Welcome to the Tales of the Wyandotte series. Journey back to the historical Eastern Woodlands through the eyes of Little Turtle, discovering timeless lessons in patience, active listening, and generational bonds.
Set in the historical Eastern Woodlands prior to the tribe's removal to Oklahoma, the story follows young Little Turtle as she gathers with family around the central hearth fire pit inside the traditional longhouse. Through storytelling with her grandfather, she learns foundational values of listening, patience, and community connection.
Designed as an effective tool for parents and educators to facilitate meaningful conversations around active listening, respect for elders, and family storytelling.
Set in the historical Eastern Woodlands prior to the tribe's removal to Oklahoma, the story follows 10-year-old Little Turtle as she walks down to a limestone stream with Grandpa Bearskin on a cool spring morning. Listening to the rhythmic lullaby of flowing water and observing the steady persistence of the river shaping stone, she watches river otters and blue herons, and learns how to adapt gracefully to life's obstacles. Together by the riverbank clay patch, they shape a songbird clay whistle, allowing Little Turtle to join her voice with the living harmony of nature and share her reflections with family around the evening hearth fire.
Connecting with nature, listening to environmental rhythms, observing adaptation, and discovering inner harmony.
